HITS

AI Ads and AI IP Featured During May 22 HITS Spring Event

The central theme of the May 22 Hollywood Innovation & Transformation Summit (HITS) is “Where Artificial Intelligence meets Automation + Integration,” and that theme will play out throughout the day at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles.

A pair of afternoon sessions will specifically discuss the impact of artificial intelligence on media and entertainment.

First up is “Shattering the Status Quo: AI-Powered Inclusive Innovation in TV Advertising.”

In this dynamic session, industry leaders and visionaries will explore groundbreaking strategies and creative approaches that challenge conventional norms in television advertising. Delving into the intersection of innovation, inclusivity, and AI technology, our panelists will share insights on how to captivate diverse audiences through forward-thinking initiatives.

Discover how embracing diversity, equity, and inclusion can serve as catalysts for innovation in TV advertising, reshaping the landscape with cutting-edge AI applications.

Attendees will gain actionable insights and inspiration as speakers explore ways to break barriers, spark change, and redefine the narrative in reaching audiences through inclusive practices powered by AI. Filiz Bahmanpour, board member for the Women in Technology Hollywood (WiTH) Foundation will moderate with Halleh Kianfar, inclusive analytics and contextual video data for Gracenote; Alena Morris, senior director of product marketing for PubMatic; and David Thomson, executive global product and design leadership for Momentum Design Lab and HTEC Group.

Then, in the panel “AI & Intellectual Property,” legal and creative professionals will aim to provide the rundown of where we are, the gaps, and whether we can have a harmonious relationship with AI systems. By exploring the potential benefits and risks associated with AI in IP management, identifying innovative approaches to enhance IP protection, and legislation’s role in safeguarding and promoting the fair use of intellectual property.

Rosemary Ampuero-Jacobs, WiTH board Member and professional development alumni advisor for New York University Foundation will moderate with Luisa Huang, COO, co-founder, creator, and producer at Toonstar; Ghen Lara Long, international lawyer with the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences; and Evette Vargas, writer, director, storyteller, producer, and co-founder at Indigo Reign Films.

The pace of the constant innovations and transformations in media and entertainment, across all aspects of content creation and distribution, from advanced workflows to evolving industry technology requirements, can be a challenge for even the most tech-savvy among us. This year’s HITS will again address artificial intelligence but through the lens of our global entertainment supply chain. Since the start of HITS in 2010 we have focused this community on the increased use of platforms and APIs to provide a more fluid interface for the “other” AI (automation and integration)!

This year’s HITS is co-located with EES and Women in Technology: Hollywood. EES is the annual gathering of industry innovators and thought leaders, all discussing the use of data to effectively blend physical and digital experiences across the global entertainment ecosystem. WiTH brings their community’s leadership vision to the main stage at HITS to update their community in the Spring while on the way to their SoCal Women’s Leadership Summit in the fall.

HITS Spring is presented by Box, with sponsorship by Fortinet, SHIB, AMD, Brightspot, Grant Thornton, MicroStrategy, the Trusted Partner Network, the Content Delivery & Security Association (CDSA) and EIDR, and is produced by MESA in partnership with the Pepperdine Graziadio School of Business.
