MESA Mourns Loss of Longtime Executive Assistant Don Hurley

The MESA family is mourning the loss of Donald J. Hurley, who passed away suddenly on Feb. 16 at his home in Boise, Idaho.

Working most recently as executive assistant to MESA president and CEO Guy Finley, Hurley managed the growth of MESA beginning in 2011, as director of operations of the Alliance, then moved to a supporting role in the executive suite.

Originally from Nevada and with a background as an executive admin from the hotel industry, Don is survived by his husband, Dean.

“We’re devastated by our sudden and unexpected loss,” Finley said. “Anyone who knew or worked closely with Don saw how his kind nature and good spirits made for great conversation and laughter which came to be a signature of our early committees and working groups. We spent many years together building MESA and his personality helped form the culture for the organization.”

A GoFundMe has been established to help Hurley’s family through this difficult time and to care for their pets. A memorial service is being planned in Boise, Idaho. Messages to the Hurley family can be posted here.
