MESA Takes Part in Feb. 9 Super Bowl Celebrity Golf Tourney
On Feb. 9, MESA sponsored the Super Bowl LVI Celebrity Golf Tournament, held at the Brookside Golf Club next to the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, where all proceeds went toward the education needs of children in underprivileged areas.
Warren Sapp, Christian Okoye, Chris Calloway, Horace Grant and Robert Horry were among the roughly 40 former and current professional athletes to play in the tournament.
Presented by United Champions for Change, a nonprofit founded in 2020 by former Seattle Seahawks player and Super Bowl champion Walter Thurmond III, and Southern California at-risk youth foundation Shelter 37, the event fundraised for the education and life skills programs the two offer.
