PacketFabric CEO, M&E Head to Talk Cloud Revolution at Dec. 8 CPS Summit

The pandemic has witnessed the media and entertainment industry increasingly move its workflows and tools into the cloud. That’s put a spotlight on the ecosystem’s networks and cloud pathways in order to make it all work.

At the Dec. 8 virtual Content Protection Summit PacketFabric CEO Dave Ward and Lisa Gerber, head of media and entertainment, will be on hand to share their thoughts on what creatives who have been forced to adapt expect from their cloud connections today.

“So many of the pain points M&E creatives and executives attribute to the cloud, have nothing to do with the cloud itself; they’re the connections,” Gerber said. “I was inspired to join PacketFabric because in a world of telecom and networking, they’re game changers. If Hollywood is willing to re-examine its tools and habits, they need to be supported by a similarly disruptive approach.”

The presentation — “Connectivity, The Cloud and The Creative Process” — will cover how previously-change-resistant creatives have shifted their workflows, and will see a discussion around a new white paper that shows just how crucial the ongoing cloud revolution is to the industry.

Presented by Microsoft Azure, the event is sponsored by SHIFT, Genpact, Akamai, Convergent Risks, Friend MTS, GeoGuard, PacketFabric, Palo Alto Networks, Richey May Technology Solutions, Splunk, Zixi, Cyberhaven, EIDR and Xcapism Learning.

The Content Protection Summit is produced by MESA, CDSA, the Hollywood IT Society (HITS) and Women in Technology Hollywood (WiTH), under the direction of the CDSA Board of Directors and content advisors representing Amazon Studios, Adobe, Paramount, BBC Studios, NBCUniversal, Lionsgate, WarnerMedia, Amblin Entertainment, Legendary Pictures, and Lego Group.
