HITS Spring: Birlasoft, Exactuals, Azure Bring Cloud, Payments Knowledge

Executives from Microsoft Azure, Birlasoft, Exactuals and Blizzard Entertainment will all be on hand May 23 at the HITS Spring event in Los Angeles, offering insights into the latest cloud, compliance and payment technologies for the media and entertainment industry.

The mid-day breakout track of cloud-centric sessions kicks off with Joel Sloss, senior lead for media and entertainment–security at Microsoft Azure, and his presentation “Get it to the Cloud (Evolving Your Edit Pipeline),” a follow-up to his NAB 2019 discussion on how editors are taking advantage of moving their workflows to the cloud, without sacrificing security.

Next, Birlasoft’s Kiran Chirra (senior director of M&E delivery), Raghu Seetharam (global head of CRM and SaaS technologies) and Timothy Sheehy (assistant M&E VP) will offer their thoughts on what it takes to navigate the complexity and variety of options available for moving M&E workflows to the cloud, in the session “RIP Sneakernet – Cloud-Enabled Workflows for Complex M&E Environments.”

Amazon Web Services’ partner Blizzard Entertainment will have its transmission manager Kristoffer Harrington and Corey Smith, director of live operations for broadcast technology, on hand to share their cloud-enabled success story in the presentation “Harnessing the Power of the Cloud to Deliver OverWatch League to a Global Audience.”

And the team at industry payments specialists Exactuals will close out the breakout track of sessions with “Paperless Payments: Stop lighting money on Fire – Direct Deposit Residuals and Participations Now Available Industry Wide,” sharing how the company’s partnership with Entertainment Partners allowed SAG-AFTRA to deliver end-to-end digital talent payments. Exactuals’ CEO and co-founder Mike Hurst, Rebecca Green, director of customer success, and Wendy Osuna, product manager for film and TV, will be joined by Anthony De La Rosa, EVP of residuals for Entertainment Partners.
