General Communication Taps Evolution Digital’s eVUE-TV (HITS)

Alaskan communications company General Communication (GCI) has tapped Evolution Digital and its eVUE-TV IPTV solution for residential and business customers in select regions.

The announcement comes as part of Evolution its agreement to deploy TiVo’s eBOX IP hybrid set-top box with GCI, with eVUE-TV being available via the set-top as a fully-integrated IP VOD platform, aggregated with live linear, OTT apps and PPV through a TiVo user interface. “We are excited to announce that GCI customers will have access to the best Video on Demand content through an advanced IP video platform with a pricing model that makes sense to the operator,” said Marc Cohen, EVP of Evolution Digital. “Transitioning to an IP video platform sets the stage for GCI’s continued growth by capturing new revenue and expanding to new markets.”

GCI becomes the fifteenth cable operator nationwide to deploy Evolution Digital’s eVUE-TV platform.
