HITS: Spring 2017: Entertainment Partners Talks Security, TiVo Looks at Metadata, AI

The CISO from Entertainment Partners will share the latest tools available to secure the production office while TiVo will bring an expert on using machine learning, metadata and artificial intelligence (AI) to make the most out of catalog content, at HITS: Spring 2017, being held May 25 at the Sheraton Universal Hotel in Los Angeles.

Here’s a look at what’s on tap during the late afternoon breakout sessions of the day-long conference:

• In a 4:15 p.m. breakout session, Entertainment Partners’ Martin Mazor, chief information security officer, and Jenelle Rotenberg, product manager, will offer their thoughts on the shifting security concerns from the days of sharing paperwork by a production office to today’s digital reality. Entertainment Partners’ SmartStudio solution will be highlighted as a way for content companies to secure the production office, and keep data and documents out of the wrong hands.

• Concurrently at 4:15 p.m., Scott Maddux, VP of business development for TiVo, will share how content owners can make use of machine learning, AI and metadata to make better use of their catalog content, and better target the consumers who’ll watch (and pay for) that content. With dozens of distribution channels and delivery platforms, increasingly fragmented audiences, and more competition for ad revenues, it’s the companies who make use of metadata and these new technologies that will have the advantage going forward, Maddux will argue.

• To close the conference at 5:15 p.m., David Perona, director of customer intelligence for SAS, will share the capabilities needed today to personalize a viewers’ content experience, especially when it comes to over-the-top. His discussion, “Personalizing Your Over The Top Service,” will offer ideas on how to collect viewer behavior across digital channels, communicate directly with a consumer, and leveraging machine learning and predictive analytics.
